It has an Electronic Commerce Interest Group whose current work includes the micropayment initiative. Micropayments are very small payments - as little as a fraction of a cent - made over the web for pages that you access. Micropayments cover transactions which are too small to be economical as credit card transactions, but provide a potentially significant revenue if large enough numbers of people visit the site.
